Better video of supercharger, but the squeeling belt is annoying.

  • One of my relatives owns an MG. It's his one and only hobby - it more or less falls to bits every time he drives it.

Have you made any modifications to improve the relaibility? Are you still using switches made by the Prince of Darkness?

  • Got to be honast, never had an electrical problem or switch failure. Most of this is due to poor grounds.

Much of the drivetrain has been upgraded. Infinity limited slip diff, Toyota 5-speed and much more.

  • "the dogs gernards" can I put this on my stag, where do I get it and how much can I do it for

  • Hi Kev,

I'm sure you could but I don't know of any "off the shelf" kit .

  • 9lbs now. Any more than that with out engine more advanced management would make for a very short driving season.

  • that is one sweet ride mate

  • Thanks, I appreciate the feedback.

  • this is so much nicer than that piec of crap tr7 lowering the tone of every TR show they shud be destroyed every one of them.

  • @spasticteapot MG's are no where near as solid as TR's

  • Nice Car and Nice sound LOVE IT!!! Where can I get info and spec's on adding a supercharger ?

  • Thanks, but I actually meant hobby as in fixing it up and then enjoying it. Not for it to be perpetually on the stands. No fun in that. I would've liked to drive it occasionally. :) But thanks for your suggestions. I already took your advice and opted for a chopper. ;)

  • Dude, you already said it. HOBBY car. Thats what they are. Part of the ownership/fun is working on them. Its not a new Honda. If you have concerns like this, then a car like this IS NOT for you.

  • I just got one the other day. They are a putzer's car. If you do not find joy in working on engines or cars in general, don't get a triumph. You will spend a fortune paying someone else to repair it all the time. The reason they are popular is because they are fun and easy to work on.

  • I've always liked this car's styling! Very cool.

I've been considering getting a TR6 as a hobby car, but have been reading a lot of negative comments about poor workmanship and unreliable operation. My brother bought a TR6 brand new in 1971 or '72, and I seem to recall he had a lot of trouble out of it, as well (I was very young then), so I don't wish to get myself on the hook for more than it's worth.

What has been your experience with this car?
