I'm just an arm chair student of African traditions in the USA and the Caribbean, but it's easy to see that much of social dances from slavery on to today and our masking traditions including Jonkanu and the New Orlean Mardi Gras Indians came from these Egungun celebrations.
It's wonderful to see these videos but I'm sure the experience would be a 100 times better in person.
