Yeah, in the movie I always thought that 1900 owned Jelly Roll more far on this second round playing the same song after hearing it once than he did with the last piece.

I thought 1900 added his own spice to the piece as well, I also think I heard some different measures in 1900's version compared to Jelly's. Summary is

Jelly Morton: "You stick this up your ass"

    1900: "You jelly?"

I love this movie, it is a fabulous piece of fiction and that makes it even better, its never happened, and never will.

Yes it is. if we're going by the definition of mistake, which is to do something unintentionally, then yes, that note was a mistake.

Anyway, that's besides the point. The director intentionally included a few highly subtle easter eggs which only people with a keen musical ear may notice.

If you know something about Jazz, you already know that there's any mistake, because it's a normal minor scale with the 13# (taked from the Minor Blues Scale on D key), that's not a mistake, that's a kind of scale different than the ussual be used on classical music.

Is the error supposed to be in the right or left hand? Left hand sounds perfect. You could argue that there's a mistake in the right hand, but to me that sounds like he meant to play it that way. There's never jarring quality or sense of error.
