E32 735i Auto 0-60mph under 8sec!!!!!

An E32 735i Auto doing 0-60mph under 8seconds. Considering the video starts before the car pulls off & at 8sec we're at 60mph I'd agree!I think we hit 80mph arounf 12-13sec. Not bad for an old bus! You decide ;)

Hmmmm.... you are talking about a 193Hp high reving M50 24v manual car that weighs 1580Kg against a 208Hp M30 12v Automatic luxury/tourer that weighs 1800Kg......

There is no comparison. Straight line on motorway & you'd be toast. You won't see 140Mph+ as quick as me either.

I won't argue if it was 7.9 or 7.8 but I've definitely done close to 7.5 sec before.

I've never had a problem losing a 525i but the 735i is now an E38 740i

What are you talking about with the US cars?

VERY early auto M30 cars came with a 3.64:1, mid run 3.91:1, and late a 4.27:1, manual always had the 3.64:1

M60s had the 2.93:1 due to the introduction of the five speed automatic. Chip it and degree the cams like the E38 cars and you will be surprised at the gains in power, even with the 2.93:1

Early M70 cars had the snooze 3.15:1 then the late received the 3.64:1. Main issue with the M70s are the lack of true WOT until 4000rpm

These cars differentials are more geared for higher Autobahn speeds. Speeds we don't normally use in the US or NA. My 740iL has a 293 dif a more appropriate 315 or even a 364 would make it much quicker 0-60. Though that would be sacrificing fuel economy.

Sorry I never seen your reply. I got this 735i instead. I wanted low down power, automatic & more comfort ;o)

I've got an E38 740i now. A totally different animal. I would love an E32 740i or 750iL though. A proper luxury classic ;o)
