@nepalfool NEWAH or Newari languages have connection with Rai languages. NEWAH language still shows Kirati features in verbal inflection. For example "YALA YEN " in Newari language are Kirat words. American linguistic specialist is studying about this and time will soon reveal more about Kirat-Newar. By the way Nepali language falls under Indo-Aryan group. But both Newah and Rai languages falls under

Tibeto-Burmese group.

Google for this newly published document [ Contemporary Essays on Vanishing Ethnicity, Cultures and Languages of Nepal, A Focus on Kiranti-Kõits ] by DR Lal Rapacha. We need to bring awareness to our new generation Nepalese that preserving the ancient language is a must. If this work is not carried out, by next 5-10 years, many of Kiranti languages will become extinct. The New Constitution of Nepal must do all it can to save and promote Kiranti languages cause it is pure Nepali.

Linguistics expert have found that the Kiranti language family comprises some 30 languages (Ebert 1994; some counts are higher: Hansson (1991) and Grimes (2000) put the estimate closer to 40) in the Tibeto-Burman branch of the Sino-Tibetan language family. And more importantly Newar bhasa is part of Kiranti family.
