The National Ploughing Championships Is Not To Be Missed
The National Ploughing Championships takes place in Athy Co. Kildare from September 20th-22nd 2011. For the first time in the ploughing championships history the Husqvarna arena, surrounded by Oregon, Aspen and Husqvarna stands will host the Husqvarna Axefactor and the All Ireland Husqvarna Pole Climbing Championships featuring Kevin Birchall MD Treecare Ireland and former World Champion Terry Bennett.
This year, Husqvarna plans to wow the crowds at the National Ploughing Championships with choreographed shows from Irish Axemen and Pole Climbers. Kevin Birchall and his team of experienced Pole Climbers along with former World Champion Pole Climber Terry Bennett will scale two trees which are 30 Metres in height each and 50cm in diameter. The Husqvarna Pole Climbing team will race each other against the clock up the trees with the winner being announced on the final day. The trees being used are being sourced, felled and prepared by Kevin Birchall who is a professional Pole Climber and has traveled throughout Europe setting up Pole Climbing competitions.
