Dustin is awesome! First off, Dustin was sitting there in artists alley doing his thing. I came up and asked for a sketch. He was all for it and asked me what I wanted. I had no idea and when he said he wanted a challenge, I said ok "Doc Oct". When I was looking through his portfolio, it was mainly Star Wars stuff and with the Gambit pic he was doing, I thought I could go a little more Marvel. He had never drawn the guy so we looked around for a ref. Nothing.

Finally the woman sitting next to him goes, "hes got a bowl haircut and goggles". And just like that he cranks it out. It was amazing. When it was all done, it totally reminded me of those older villan styles which was perfect for Doc Oct. I mean, whats more generic than an evil scientist? But he really got the look perfectly. So yah, enjoy!

  • I like how Doc's hand looks like one of his metal grippers.
