Hi Everyone
Here is the maiden flight of the G-44 Widgeon. The model flies fantastic, this flight I was just cruising and having fun taxiing. The power system is as follows: Two E-flite 25 amp ESC's, Two E-flite 480 1020 KV motors, 4 Hi-Tec HS-82MG Servos and a 2650 40C Zippy Battery . She looks great in the water and the 3 bladed props look cool. Thanks for viewing and happy flying from TMRC.

  • great place for water flying looks like :) i love me some lake flying :) looks like it needed some elevator trim for the take off? nice job flying !

  • @codyputman Yes as I took off I had to pull more elevator then I expected lol thanks for the cool comment.. Tim

  • @TinkerManRC Better to play it safe, than take off too early. You were probably busy hitting digital up-trim inputs at 90mph, while working the elevator at the same time. LOL, been there done that! I'm sure it's a lot easier now, now that you've found the settings.

  • @WTFLYR You are right on the money, I'm looking forward to the next flight .. Thanks for this cool comment..Tim

  • From the first takeoff, looks to fly from the water just like the real thing. The real widgeon requires some back pressure on the wheel to keep it from bouncing. But un-like the model the real one will also throw water over the pilots window (and into the props) as it gets up on the step. Great video, thanks for posting, got any new stuff on the plane?

  • @wn6904k Hi Yes I would have to agree, I have not had a chance to get the airplane up again but will here soon.. Thanks for your cool comment ,,Tim

  • @N152CF Sure you bet any time, I'm using the JR9503 the DX8 seem to be a good radio for the price but not sure what your looking to spend. The DX7 as well.. The airplane GG was right in the numbers from waht I can remember.. Thanks ..Tim

  • @TinkerManRC

Thanks for the quick response. I'd love to see photos, as I will be putting my widgeon together soon. I run the 480 on a corsair and I'd love to do that mod. I only have a dx5e and want to to get a new radio. What do you think is the best value out there? Are you using a Spektrum? I can't tell from the video. Also, what did it take to get the CG fixed?

  • @N152CF I don't have any photos of the mods, Its not to bad I had to move the engine mount bulkhead back about a inch and remove some bulsa with a dremel tool. Then re-glue the firewall back in..Check the motor spacing to the cowl before you reset the bulkhead back in place at its new location.. Good luck and I can take a photo of it to show you..Tim

  • Do you have any photos of the mods you did to fit the 480's. How difficult was the mod?
