  • This is simply charming. He was the funniest "superstar" of them all. I agree with you, he's a cultural gem and it's because of people like you that he's still shining. I love it. How could we see more of it...

I really like your portraits on your website. Great work.

  • Thanks so much! I will hopefully be filming more of Taylor in NYC in January...and I will post it immediatly! I appreciate the nod. :)

  • Very cool! I think it's great you did this. It's obvious from your off-camera chuckles that you adore this man. Thanks for posting!

  • Taylor was one of my favorites, and I went back to NYC to get a video portrait of him for my Objectification exhibit. I felt I would be lucky if he would sit for five minutes, however, we went to the Pink Pony on Ludlow, ate lunch, and afterwards, he talked my ear off! I fortunately got it on tape, and was able to cut this great little piece of him, far more interesting that the portrait. Thanks so much for you words! More people should know about this cultural gem, Taylor Mead.

  • Brilliant!

  • Great! So funny, so witty, so charming, love Taylor Mead.

  • We are the official distributors of Taylor Mead's works and you can learn more about him in the artists section on the LUX homepage.

We look forward to finding out more about your work and opinions!

  • Taylor never changes. He seems the same now to me as he was in the 70s. Always funny, always witty, always a good story to tell. :)

  • Great work. Son of Andy Warhol, no doubt.

  • watched taylor in candy and daddy, this guy still has it after all these years. long may he carry on.

  • I remember his cameo from the end of 'Coffee and Cigarettes' - your film records him as truly a queer mandarin from fabled times of old...

  • I adore Taylor, and had the pleasure of interviewing him for my doc "Superstar in a Housedress". He has endless stories of a New York City that sadly no longer exists. Thanks for posting this - let's see more!

  • Such a colourful fellow!

All I really know of him is what I've read in Warhol bios (namely by Bob Colacello and Victor Bockris), POPism, and the Warhol Diaries. I will be sure to look him up in more detail now. :)
