Dicking around with a very tough song idea. Recorded on my iPhone so I know the quality isn't ideal.

  • @Darkknight369 sorry for all the replies, lol, just had an awesome jam and my Loomis has never sounded better. I'm using an Engl Fireball 100 once I get the balls I'll post some vids our playing styles are remarkably alike. I was saying I take back all bad things I have said about solid state. BTW I'm moving to Oregon you live near? Hehe I need someone to jam with with similar tastes and playing styles.:)

  • @Shadowx011 I live in Illinois, which is definitely not near Oregon.

For drop A, I like .064 the best. It has good tension without sounding too bassy. I used to use a .059, then a .062, but after playing my 8 string with a .064 low B, it felt better in drop A on the 7.

  • the chug patterns were very easy on the ears. The chord progression at the start sounds like rock was that intentional?

  • @MegaBeartrap not really.

  • @Darkknight369 correction I'm using a .070 not a .060 Still going to try a 0.064 probably have a little less bassy sound to it but I am curious to try it out.

  • @Darkknight369 not sure if my long reply came through before this one but just wanted to add that it never ceases to amaze me by how just going down one size on strings can change a tone on a guitar so dramatically. I'm sticking with 10's instead of 11's for on now and may try out a .064 like you have but so far I am absolutely loving the .060 I'm using.

  • @Darkknight369 Hey man it's been a while but you were the one who talked me into throwing Blackout neck pickups in my much beloved Loomis. I was using a set of 11's with a .60 on the bottom...I'm referring to the thickest string technically which is the top one but whatever. Anyway I just now after a year decided to keep the .60 and put a set of 10's for the rest. As brutal as this guitar sounded already it now sounds twice as brutal. Love your tone I take back everything bad I've ever said abo

  • @assphinktersaiswhat i have the same guitar but the trem version and i feel the fretboard gets less dirty than any rosewood ive ever had. not sure about ebony ive never owned a guitar with ebony but the maple can go a long time without being wiped down and still looks good

  • @nothinissound I try. I don't get to play as often as I used to though.

  • @DarkKnight369 I understand, I commend you for having the patience for web design on a daily basis, HTML coding is a bitch. I hope you still find a little time for guitar in there somewhere.
