American Pulitzer Prize winner Edward O. Wilson's latest book is, "The Future of Life". He is worried about the catastrophic rate of extinction of plant and animal species and about the disappearance of natural ecosystems . He is also concerned by the environmental policies of the U.S. His goal is to bring the study of the environment into mainstream science. (Originally aired: April 2002)

  • If I could just obtain a 10th of Edward Wilson's knowledge...

  • The best alternative that I have come across so far, for solving the environmental issue, is to phase out the actual free-market economic system and shift to a Resource Based Economy (RBE). Which is based on strategic monitoring of earth's resources, usage of peak (most advanced) technologies with extensive automation and minimization of waste (including elimination of cyclic consumption).
