Follow these tips to get home safely when you car is in need of instant repair.

To complete this How-To you will need:

The vehicle owner's manual
An auto repair garage (optional)

Step 1: Don't panic

Do not panic.

Step 2: Keep driving

Keep driving as normal, following all highway safety laws and regulations.

Step 3: Preserve the battery

Turn off all unnecessary lights, air conditioning, and the radio.

Step 4: Drive to a safe place

If you are on the highway, pull off as soon as possible. Drive the vehicle home or to another safe destination close by.

Tip: Drive to an auto repair garage. They will be able to determine the problem.

Step 5: Keep the engine running

Keep the engine running after you place the vehicle in park. It takes more energy to restart a car than to let it idle.

Step 6: Read the manual

Read the vehicle owner's manual to determine possible causes. Battery lights can indicate problems with voltage, water levels, belts, and alternators.

  • @wallen2k9 unless the alternator is bad in that case the battery will die even driving down the road

  • Im sorry but if you follow this guide you are nearly guarenteed to end up with a dead battery and on the side of the road..... Heres my guide..... Battery light turns on..... TURN FUCKING EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE CAR OFF I dont give a cock if its night time, those headlights are off bitch.... Pull over immediately and check to make sure you didnt break a belt and that nothing is going horribly fucking wrong.... Get home or to a garage immediately.... Charge battery as needed.

  • lol if u freak out over a car battery light then u shouldn't be driving, and as long as ur driving ur battery won't die and if it does, well then buy a better battery next time

  • If you freak out, your gonna lose all focus of driving and die. =)

  • here a other idea, don't buy a cheap ass car

  • yeah it does, the chemical components of my fart will conduct the circuit, thus giving it limited electricity. The smellier and louder the fart, the better!

  • They left themost simplest details out

  • nawe that'd just give you car extra gas

  • I'm not sure if that will work.

  • LLLOOOLLLLLLLLL XXDD
