I just recently saw this movie for the first time. It is definitely one of my favorite movies and he deserved to win the oscar for his portrayal of a drug addicted middle school teacher. One of my favorite scenes was when Dre actually sells him drugs. Its such a profound and epic point in this movie. Amazing performances and storyline and overall meaning:)

Half Nelson is an amazing film. Yes he is a Junky but he manages to Convince Dre to not be involved in that lifestyle. The meaning of Half Nelson is to be stuck in an uncomfortable position. Making his problem come full circle. We are left with him back at square one. And Dre becomes the hope that Ryan Goslings character will change because he will see that he was able to convince Dre to stay away from that lifestyle.

I would explain it, but you must be thick as a brick to not understand from the trailer the direction in which the film goes. The fact that you used capitals also tells me you are a young person frustrated with not understanding an adult film
