A cool review for an even cooler game, extremely entertaining and immersive. An action/ adventure/ horror blockbuster game experience for PLAYSTATION 3 system. Alone in the Dark (2008 version) 1st came out to PS2 in June. It was an innovative survival horror game with a bad execution, full of bugs...but still good. Others versions came out - PC, Wii and 360 - with much more improved graphics and way better, but still something wasn't right...still some bugs bothered some players.

Very sad with the disappointment of some media and gamers, producers delayed the PS3 version to November to receive some enhancements (although here in Brazil I could only find in stores December to January 2009). It also received a subtitle: INFERNO.
________________________________________________________________________________________ Here are the improvements in PS3 INFERNO VERSION over earlier versions:

1. BRAND NEW THRILLING EXPLOSIVE ACTION SEQUENCE HAS BEEN ADDED IN EPISODE 6: SUBWAY BOSS BATTLE.

2. FINE TUNED CONTROLS: CARS MANEUVERS MORE REALISTIC (with increased suspension and reduced drifting giving overall better handling to make driving a fun walk in the park every time). Edward Carnby movements also got better.

3. A MORE ZOOMED - OUT 3RD PERSON CAMERA VIEW.

4. TOTAL CONTROL OF THE CAMERA (full 360 degree camera control), enabling players to view the fire and mass destruction they are causing in all of its glory.

5. ADITION OF CHECKPOINTS IN CHAPTER 2, WHILE ESCAPING IN A CAR IN 59TH STREET (one of the game's most exciting sequences just got better, with also a difficulty tuning and clear voice directions given by Sarah)

6. BUGS FIXED.

7. A MORE USER - FRIENDLY INVENTORY SYSTEM.

8. MORE TIPS: additional on-screen tips will help players quickly adapt to controls and easily understand how to overcome tricky situations;

Alone in the Dark, no matter in wich platform will be played, definitely worth checking out. It is a very pleased surprise and considered by some reviewers and also gamers ONE OF THE MOST INOVATIVE GAMES OF 2008.
________________________________________________________________________________________ THE ENVIRONMENT plays a big part of core gameplay, as the player can pick up any object (such as pipes, woods, swords) and use it as a melee weapon. It can also be used to smash in doors, and knock objects over.
________________________________________________________________________________________ FIRE is generated in real-time, as objects can be set alight by holding it over the fire, and it can be extinguished. If the fire isn't extinguished fast enough, the flames will continue to regenerate. Almost everything can be burned, even doors. The player can pick up objects, and combine to make different styles of weapons, however only some objects can be combined with others. For example, double-sided adhesive tape can be used to attach a glow stick to a wall, creating a source of light.
__________________________________________________________________________________ INVENTORY it is another clever invention, its basically the inside of your jacket. So your inventory is limited to what you can fit in your jacket, and its all REAL TIME handling. Wants to check out your inventory and use some items? Press DOWN in the D-PAD and BAM, you open your jacket and look down to it. Very awesome, original and easy to learn.
_______________________________________________________________________________________
HEALING SYSTEM it is another great innovation. Also real time, you see the wounds all over your body. Your clothes get ripped and if you are really hurt, youll bleed till death unless you strap on a bandage. Forget the stupid RESIDENT EVIL healing system (like in RE5, spraying an herb)
__________________________________________________________________________________________ MUSIC in Alone in the Dark it is very impressive, scored by Olivier Derivière, the same person who scored Obscure and Obscure II. It also includes the female choir The Mystery of Bulgarian Voices. The DJ Tiësto have some cool electronic versions of some soundtracks, just check it out here in youtube.

REVIEWS from past versions ranged from good to poor. The Xbox 360 version of game has received mixed reviews, from scores of 3/10 to 8/10. The PS3 version, Alone in the Dark: Inferno, has received far more favorable reviews due to the improved movement and driving controls, including the extra scenes. Gamepro awarded game of the month award. Sales, despite all bad critics, went well as of July 30, 2008, the game has moved 1.2 million copies worldwide. I highly recommend you all to play. What are you waiting for???

  • You should work for IGN doing reviews THIS IS A GOOD REVIEW NOT THE SHIT from IGNorants

  • @tommapar88: So glad you enjoyed...whenever possible I'll try to put audio of myself speaking about the game...but in the video description the viewers can read more about the game...and the review. It would be awesome to work into any game magazine...or a game site like IGN or Gamespot. And yes...most of the gamers kinda disagree with IGN opinions...and reviews...

  • nice review!, looks like it haves parts of freeroam, or not?

  • @Darksolt: Yes, it does. In Chapter 1, its inside a building (no free roam). Chapter 2 - the beautiful car chase (no free roam). So from Chapter 3 forward you can explore the environment into the big Central Park, very well detailed by the way...and the scariest moments in this game (cause its all in the night, kinda dark, some demons wondering around...great sound and soundtrack effects...). The only thing that bothers me is the lack of extras...but go out and kill the "evil trees" and have fun

  • At 0:25 wat part of alone in the dark do u fight tht thing at in Xbox360 version??

  • @AloneInTheDark525: Read video description to see all improvements in Alone in the Dark for PS3. The real experience of Alone is only in PS3. Can't wait for a sequel...

  • This is review for you :S

  • @TheGamerClubber Because they're paid by big fishes of the gaming industries like EA or Infinity Ward, to name some, to speak marvels about their games, and speak shit over the other minor game's creators, it's a shame because they have their power on the Internet

  • zombie shadowboxing @ 1:54

  • This game looks awesome.
