This is to show how I make a paper tube for my Civil war musket cartridge

@1joshjosh1 Definitely something almost romantic about shooting older weapons. A decent black powder musket will run you anywhere from $400 to $1000. I got a Pedersoli Brown Bess myself I had it made for me to commemorate my return from my last and final deployment to Iraq (spent almost 3 years there with the Army). Finally looking forward to firing it off next week!

@GrimTheRealReaper You can by a dowel rod or stick definitely helps. Dowel rods are pretty cheap you could probably go to a hardware store and have them cut a 12inch piece for you....or check a craft store. Alternatively look around the house and see if you have maybe a broom handle or something of a similar size.

not really, these cartridges are mainly for muzzle loading rifles and such, not pistols.

very informative! but where can i get a dowel rod with the concaved end?

I made my own. I took a 1/2" round dowel and took a 3/8" drill and drilled the end to make the concave form.
