"I wish to speak to you about temporal matters.
As a backdrop for what I wish to say, I read to you a few verses from the 41st chapter of Genesis...."

"Now, brethren, I want to make it very clear that I am not prophesying, that I am not predicting years of famine in the future. But I am suggesting that the time has come to get our houses in order."

"There is a portent of stormy weather ahead to which we had better give heed."

Exactly 7 years later, another warning. Again Pharaohs dream he reiterated.

"If anyone has any doubt concerning the terrible things that can and will afflict mankind, let him read the 24th chapter of Matthew. (Matthew 24:68, 19, 2122)."

"In the Book of Mormon we read of unimaginable destruction in the Western Hemisphere at the time of the Savior's death in Jerusalem. (3 Nephi 8:510, 1214)."

"And all things shall be in commotion; and surely, men's hearts shall fail them; for fear shall come upon all people" (D&C 88:8991).

"Someone has said it was not raining when Noah built the ark. But he built it, and the rains came."

"The Lord has said, "If ye are prepared ye shall not fear " (D&C 38:30)."

"I am saying nothing that has not been said for a very long time. Let us never lose sight of the dream of Pharaoh concerning the fat cattle and the lean, the full ears of corn, and the blasted ears; the meaning of which was interpreted by Joseph to indicate years of plenty and years of scarcity (see Genesis 41:136)."

I wonder where the state of the world will be 7 years after this warning - 2012?

At the time of this prophecy, our nation's economy was riding a swelling internet bubble. Yet, at the same time the Clinton Admin. was sowing the seeds of destruction w/ the reimplementation of the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977; & the repeal of Glass-Steagall - which gave way to Wall Street (Fed') Bank's derivatives trading. (Trillion $ gambling). Now our nation's wealth is being transferred away through TARP & Keynesian Stimulus - while being replaced by Quantitative Easing. Surely...

This was the first Priesthood session that I attended after getting home from my mission in Brazil. This talk had a profound impact on my outlook on debt. I have never been in debt accept a mortgage as a result. And I make extra payments on my mortgage regularly. I can afford the things I need and save for those that I want and have plenty for the future. Few speeches or talks have affected me the way this one did. I am glad that I heard it 11 years ago and listened.

Are you ready!! Is your house in order?? Do we really realize that these are prophets. The stormy weather is here and it will be horrendous. A depression is right around the corner, do you have your year supply?? Are you spiritually prepared?? God help us if we are not!

@raisethelibertytitle Actually the prophet and the 12 get money while they are in from the Church. They get cars a house and a living allowance. in order to perform their duties. Learn before you speak so blindly.. Its not bad that they do but this is well known.

@Ametrida The most impoverished Catholic Nun; and/or the lowest paid Protestant Preacher were paid more financial compensation for a day's work - than Gordon B. Hinckley was paid for a lifetime of service from the LDS Church - who was never paid a penny. (As the Lord Jesus Christ set forth as the standard for true discipleship when He sent His Apostles to preach the Gospel).

Christ also taught that men must be called of Him - rather than being schooled in prominent seminaries and synagogues!

@Ametrida Oh, yeah. A man who lived out the last 40 years of his life in an 800 ft. apartment was all about the money. Of course, that was complimented w/ his ZERO Dollar annual income. (Which would total out being paid ZERO Dollars - for leading a worldwide church - for a 40 yr. period)...

I love this talk! Thank you so much for posting it. The world is seeing the validity of a Prophet's words. Moreover, the Book of Mormon - which was written & arranged for these very days - is playing out before us. Lastly, this world will soon see D&C 87 & 45 fulfilled!
