Well I'm keeping an open mind on it at present. Lot's of 'subjective' experiences are being collected by Doctors and Psychiatrists, and theories being bandied about by scientists as to how it might happen, but no real proof that it's not all in the mind. I know if I had a heart transplant from a transvestite it might make me think twice everytime I looked at a well dressed woman....But it would probably be my mind playing tricks on me.
I know imagine thinking a heart transplant would impart knowledge from its donor???? That idiot probably won't be photographed for fear of his soul being stolen, lol!
Onenall thinks vr is not failsafe! And the real world is? Were world war 1 and 2 imaginary? Was the Cuban missile crisis a hoax? These ppl always apply problems based on current tecnology as well without catering for massive advances.
Even if we made VR to just take the crap out of life it would be cool. Don't hafta go to some crappy job for money - can just choose some TombRaider adventure to earn credits for some other goal(ie: go fishing - get a prize for getting a big fish er something) -- cheez chasing's still there - but freedom of choice is maximized. Don't hafta weed the garden, don't hafta get cancer, don't even hafta go home every day -- etc..
Doesn't hafta be different games really - just games within games.
Possibly, but was in the major newspapers (and the organ memory theory was from medical sources). We're not talking magic here, just another biological finding. Of course the guy with the hand problem may have been having psychological problems with his new Paw. I remmember it was the Liver which was cited as having many brainlike functions. Very odd.
Lots of strange stuff goes on. One I remember was a man who had a hand sewn on from a dead murderer....You guessed it. The transplantee started to have murderous thought about his wife and the hand started to grip his neck while he slept. He had it removed eventually and went for a prosthetic instead. Emotional stuff appears to some heart transplantees too, stuff from the dead doner. New findings suggest organs other than the brain have 'memory' and other 'brain only' attributes too.
