Sorry, Daddy Clay... I'm all with Brad... the sooner and more often you take your toddler to the bathroom with you, the faster and more they get that this is where we put our pee and poop and when we combine that by giving them their own child-sized potty and/or toilet adaptor, it's very easy to guide them to readiness.

I remember my daughter when she was ready for potty training and she wanted to try to go like me, standing up. Well I said you can try but you won't like it when you go all over yourself so she went and sure enough that was the last time she did that.. Now she is 28 and has a daughter of her own so the cycle continues.
