Pity the greatest live band ever had to go through this shit to conquer the US and then Clapton jibbed out when his cliched guitar work was reviewed by Landau in Rolling Stone. Landau then went on to manage the most cliched act in the US, no doubt for mega bucks.

Ginger's drumming is so fucking tribal! Brilliant.

Marshalls were too much for a television studio. Jimi Hendrix played the tonight show with Marshall stacks and the sound was too much for the television sound system and most of it was lost.

@BluesRockGuitarist hahahahah yah we did

good but not the same without the heavy distortion

This version seems way looser and funkier than the album cut.
I'm jealous, you old people had this on your TV when you were kids.

I remember watching this on the Smothers Brothers Summer Show in 1968. I held a little microphone in front of the TV speaker and recorded this. I still have the tape! But thankfully it was released on the CREAM boxed set several years ago. I dug the double notes Eric plays in the verses, and thought it so cool that Eric and Jack had their backs to the audience looking into big mirrors.. As a 15 year old I was going ape! Still as exciting today as it was then!!
