The Digital Foosball Table is based on the latest technologies for extremly fast performance. It consists of two WebApps for mobile and desktop clients and a digitally augmented foosball table.
The table itself has a built in Arduino microcontroller that notifies a NodeJS server via HTTP over WiFi when a goal is scored. This data is then stored in a CouchDB.
The mobile App -- which makes an extensive use of HTML5, CSS3 and Java-Script to run as a fast single-page WebApp -- listens via WebSockets to the NodeJS server so its scoreboard is updated instantaneously in realtime.
The League App for game statistics is implemented as a CouchApp; a fast HTML5 & CSS3 single-page Website as well. Both Apps are powered by Amazon's EC2 and Cloudfront WebServices.
