Something quite different...this bunch of students from Caius College, Cambridge issued their one and only single on Polydor in 1967. Drippy hippie meets fuzz guitar. Great!

  • I was at the Robert Kirby Memorial Concert yesterday and saw/heard Fab Cab sing this: they sounded beautiful. Well done to all: Constant Penelope was a highlight in a wonderful gathering of great talent.

  • Looks like Constant Penelope will get its first ever live performance... at the concert for Robert Kirby on 3rd October 2010 in London. The singers are getting together for the first time since 1968! Tickets available online. It's for you Robert

  • @marcusbicknell Hi Marcus. I'm friends with Alan Fairs if you'd like to get in touch with him through me (?)

  • the internet is fantastic! as more people are posting 40+ year old songs there seems to be a wonderful situation going on YouTube at the moment where children and relatives of various long lost 60's groups are saying it is there dad, uncle or brother!! love it! more! more! more!

  • Well well. Who would have thought that this would appear after 40 years? My daughter May found it - not googling myself! Marcus, total legend - yeah! Would be lovely to see you again and yes of course you were the very definite fixer! Very sad to hear of Robert's too early death.

  • @CammyF84 Which one is your Dad. My late ex-husband Robert Kirby was one of the Gentle Power of Song. Your Dad might well have been at Robert's funeral, Marcus Bicknell was.
