The Grassroots Empowerment Network (GEN) is an NGO working in the Mewat district of Harayana in India. Working with 20 villages in this predominantly muslim area, they are trying to empower the local population to tackle some of the core issues which lie at the heart of their poverty, as well as co-ordinating efforts of other NGO's working in the area. The vast majority of people here are illiterate and poverty striken, and as the middle and upper classes of the cities thrive, the people of Mewat ar left further behind.

This is an excellent video. I have worked for Mewat so I know what is Mewat and how is Mewat, this video would be really very helpful to those who has never been to Mewat. I would like to say Being an MBA student, It is a nice place to work. I also request other students to use their skill and knowledge for the development of the district like Mewat.I know it is one of the most backward district of the India, but it needs students like me and you. so lets start our work of development...
