I was a nut for this game back in the day. Got a Khan rank on two files for both clans... ah. I always loved the Nova (best well-rounded mech IMO, although it was so easily to kill enemy ones because of a rendering bug which polygonized their already-exposed cockpits, making them so easily to hit), and the Warhawk, which I always decked out with 2 PPCS in each arm, as well as some lasers. I didn't mind the Hellbringer, either. Can't believe Rifleman's gone... those were a bugger to kill.

@armoredplacoderm Ok, it's been a while, but I think the Summoner is a Thor or Loki, I think that's either a Large Laser or AC/10 in the arm. Without the stats infront of me I can't be sure...but I'm pretty sure it's not a Gauss Rifle.

@Pikaandpi You just reminded me of my custom "Super" Nova, with jump jets and a whole load of small lasers, flying/running in close range and blasting off legs off any assault mechs

I always thought the PlayStation's port of this game was better then the PC version at the time. The music was better too. But now I am all over the PC MWLL because it pwns any mechwarrior game to date in just about every category minus the single-player.

@Fireshadow19 Timber wolves are nice, but nothing beats a Warhawk. 4 ER PPCs = instant death to anything you set your sights on.

Nostalgia overload. My father and I watched this so many times way back in the day. I love this game!
If you have the right mech, the right skills, and the opportunity, they are really brutal.

Actually, in the tactical game, especially if you play Solaris VII rules, machineguns are seriously powerful. I've built entire mechs around TIC'ed Machinegun arrays. Put it this way, 30-someodd machineguns x2 (damage) is 60, and with that many rolls, you can easily cause at LEAST 1 piloting roll, and if you have some lasers tic'd as well, or you just fire everything...watch out! The damage can be severe enough that you can cause shutdowns. Now, flamers...that's a whole other thing.
