The 1971 Kansas Jayhawks reached the Final Four, where they were defeated by Coach John Wooden, Henry Bibby, and the UCLA Bruins. Years later Henry Bibby's son, Mike Bibby, as a freshman, would lead Arizona (the eventual champions) to victory over one of the most talented Kansas teams of all-time, the '97 Jayhawks, who managed to enter postseason play with only one loss.

The '71 Jayhawks, coached by Ted Owens, were: Dave Robisch, Bud Stallworth, Roger Brown, Pierre Russell, Aubrey Nash, Mark Williams, Bob Kivisto, Randy Canfield, Greg Douglas, Mark Matthews, Jerry House, & Neal Mask.

  • Congrats on winning your Super Bowl. Once in 25 years against your hated rival is something to be proud of. Your recruits will be enamored with that accomplishment for years to come. Just make sure to hang a banner, maybe include an exhibit in your wonderful and impressive HOF. There is probably plenty of space, just squeeze it in between the Cattle and Sheep Judging exhibit and the WNIT trophy.

  • We didn't just win, it wasn't even close bro.

  • Are you going to hang banners in AFH West this year for your accomplishments?

"We beat the National Champs on our home floor for the first time in 25 years. Nobody beats us 25 years in a row at home, Nobody." (I'm thinking this would be a good sign on I-70 to replace the debate sign.)

"Beasley played here." (This will equal zero national televised games in 2008-2009)

Did Freeman have as many INTs as points scored in the spring game?

  • Seriously? Sh1t.

  • but hey, K-State has Bill Snyder and the "Miracle in Manhattan" so they got that going for them ...

    Oh, wait - what?

  • Yeah, 1940, 1952, 1953, 1957, 1971, that equals 4 right?
