My dad is the captain of this ship. The ship struck some cement pilings underwater. Only the engine and control rooms are underwater....the bottom 2 stories,,,whereas there are 5 stories below the main deck.

The ship did not sink. The stern of the ship is mearly aground. There is a difference. The side of the ship is 56' from keel to deck. Saying that a ship has "sunk" implies that it is submerged. This is not the case. 36' of the ship is above the surface of the water. The ship's maximum draft is 35'11". Much deeper than the ship is in the water right now.

Sadly this ship sunk yesterday after striking an underwater obsticle. It is resting in 20 ft. of water in its docking area for the winter time.
