I added a Paktrakr battery pack voltage monitor, Cycle Analyst watt meter, DC ampmeter for throttle, DC ampmeter for solar panel, and AC Ampmeter to monitor input to the two battery chargers. This involved a lot of work making custom harnesses, Drilling and tapping for mechanical fitting, and a lot of Dremel grinding to make the dash mount for the instrument displays and meters. It was rewarding and how I spent two weeks off from work. I shared my work with a college student who will use it in a Master's Thesis. We both worked on the car and I was able to share some of my experience with electronics and prototyping fabrication in laying out the new items and wiring them. Everything worked well on the first test drive except I heard a clunk and saw a pair of wire strippers doing cartwheels down the road, having fallen out of the battery bay. Oops.
