www.livingessence.org.uk Autumn and winter are the seasons for replenishing energy and moving it deep into the ground, storing and strengthening ready for the spring.
In autumn we gather the chi or life force and let go of the peripheral attachments to concentrate on the core I our body it is like wrapping a blanket of chi around the essential transformational organs and using deep breathing to harmonise the lungs and large intestine. As in autumn the air becomes heavy and moist, freezing at times, so let the chi sink in the body and enter the lower dantian to strengthen the core.
In nature this process in a plant strengthens the roots and in your practice strengthens the legs because of the pumping up and down movement in synchrony with the breath and mind focus.
The arms and hands are kept close to the body wrapping around and also massaging in the process.
