  • Do you think you can make a clip where you don't touch the screen every one to two seconds? I'd like to see how the streaming does while you're watching it, not all the skipping from you constantly inputting material. Also, is this over the EVDO connection or are you streaming it through a wireless network? I'm considering getting both the 6800(waiting for windows mobile 6.1) and setting up a slingbox. I would love to chat a bit more about the practicality of the phone + media content.

  • At the time I made this video there was no EVDO coverage in my area so I used my home wifi. Fortunately, Verizon is scheduled to launch EVDO in my area on Monday June 2nd. I will gladly make another video using EVDO instead of wifi.

  • Actually I'm a tad more interested on how it would do with wi-fi outside the house(a.k.a streaming over the internet). On the home wi-fi bandwidth I'm sure isn't an issue. I'm looking to get a 6800 once they start offering it with WM6.1, but I'm going to disable the EVDO internet as all I need is wireless-G and a call plan. Should be interesting to test out the slingbox =)

  • I think it would be kind of pointless for you to get the 6800 if you're gonna disable one of its most powerful features. Also, the whole point of having SlingPlayer Mobile is the ability to watch/control your tv directly from your handset anywhere you are.

If you're planning on just watching it at home via wifi wouldn't it be better to use your tv instead?

  • how did you get that.(Please Respond)

  • With the Slingbox. It's a piece of hardware that you can buy at an electronics store. You hook it yo to your wireless router at home and it allows you to remotely view/control your tv from anywhere were you can get an internet connection. Laptop or Mobile device.

  • how do u get the big clock on it??

  • I was just curious how do you get that software on your phone? Do you have to pay for it and if so how much?

  • where did you get that big clock? i want it for mine.

  • It will work well for that, believe me. It is surprising how well it streams. Even with my crappy 200kbs upload on my DSL, I get a fair picture.

  • So when I go to a friend's house or go back off to college I can still have my media with me. From what I read you can control more than just your TV. Up to 4 devices with the pro model i believe. So my media center computer/music/DVD player/etc?

I just don't like the idea of paying an extra $40 a month on a data plan when I don't have a need for internet everywhere I go. Wi-Fi is pretty available here in the NorthEast
