Doepfer A-196 PLL attempts to track a pulse width modulated A-111. An A-147 is the modulation and clock source. The result passes through a Cwejman VCEQ-3.

  • Thanks! Everything I do is by accident :)

  • Really amazing! I've watched this video several times and never get bored. The sound/melody has such a nice exotic atmosphere...

How did you create this patch? Was it more by purpose or by "accident"?

  • @boobtube356 Cool, i've downloaded Scala and i'll try to experiment with microtonal scales, i'still paralysed because my scala opens with squares where should be characters, i'm still trying to fix it. But i'll try to implement it on Synthmaker which is included on FL studio which i'm a user for some years. I'll first try to make this tunning: 440, 450, 460, 470, 480, 490, 500, 510, 520, 530, 540, 550, 560

  • @gustavoturm Most (if not all) modular oscillator controls (including voltage inputs) are continuous, so typically any pitch in the audible range is supported. Most analog sequencers support arbitrary stage voltages, so yes, any tuning imaginable is possible, and is certainly the case here.

  • Can you use alternate scale tunings with em?

  • @boobtube356 I've seen some Buchlas and they're quite expensive. It's as a imagined, using max/msp, reaktor, supercollider is the best way to make stuff like this.

  • @gustavoturm Modulars are expensive, unfortunately. Doepfer is perhaps the least expensive, but even at $100 each, four modules makes a $400 sequencer, not to mention the rack to put them in. The cheapest way to get into this is to find a used 6U rack full of Doepfer modules. Probably the best alternative is something like pd (Pure Data) software.

  • @boobtube356 Yup, i had seen some led's blinking in a pattern that remind me a sequencer. Are thos modules expensive? I seems to be really cool to make music with them.

  • @gustavoturm If you look carefully just below left of center, right above the dark module at the bottom, you can see LEDs indicating in time with the sound. This area contains a collection of modules that make up the "sequencer." Doepfer A-160, A-161, A-147, A-138. Pretty much all my Doepfer vids are done this way. The Buchla ones are similar. No midi or computer, all sequencing done internally.

  • @boobtube356 Playing itself? It has sequencer too? I know a little about synthesizers because i make music. But i didn't know a modular sequencer thar could make that.
