  • What holds the half skins in place at the tip and toe? (aside from glue?)

  • The half skins shown in the video are lighter and allow for a easier up hill trek as long as it does not get too steep.

    The half skin leading edge has a curved metal piece that has a strap and a nylon clip mounted. You strap the nylon clip just ahead of the front binding with the metal edge on the ski base. It stays in place real well. The back end is just secured with the glue on the bottom of the skin.

  • Another ill conceieved piece of backcountry gear that thankfully disappeared. ALmost every trip I see someone with skins coming off when they shouldn't. This is why.

  • I have those 1080s, cant beat the old school graphics in the ptex, I will never get rid of them.
