Vivian Gembara, who served as a JAG officer in Iraq from 2003 to 2004, talks about her experiences defending and prosecuting soldiers during the early year of the war. Ms. Gembara, while still in her late 20s, initiated the first investigation into detainee abuse in Iraq and conducted the first trial of a U.S. soldier there. She spoke about her book with a law school class at George Washington University in Washington, DC.
