@ThePrayerx, Gershwin was always very tame, even when we got her. But, we have always been very calm and rather quiet around her, never making sudden moves.
She did nibble at time, either when she wanted more attention or when she was tired of us, but never broke the skin. So I guess gentle biting is normal.

It didn't take any training, she just chirped when she was petted. However, we did train her to come to the front of the cage when we called her name. That took about half a day...

2nd of March? Is your gebil still alive? He doesn't look or sound well in that video

@stephmortimer1, @CerezFFM, @duckslapper12: That video is more than 9months old. Gershwin is still alive and well. It's not a respiratory infection, actually you can hear her stop this sound at the end of the video. She does it on her back only and when she's almost asleep.
She's very special... the adoption center we got her from told us she was a stray and born without a tail.

wow! I've never seen a gerbil this docile before. My gerbil likes getting pet but will never go on his back and only lets me and my Mom pet him. I guess he only likes girls!
What an adorable squeak! It reminds me of guinea pigs.

Gerbils have different personalities, that's what is so neat about them!
Ours was docile that day, but she can be restless as well.
