Actually, they do in all likelihood exist, but many scientists are probably afraid of the huge task lying ahead, determining exactly what these primates are. They all want the glory, but none of them want to say it. A creature seen and encountered for centuries, probably more human than ape/animal, the chance is literally big it's real. Btw, they don't live near people, they live in forests and mountains, and will venture near humans when they feel safe. In my opinion, they're some kind of race.
Krantz may have been a great profesor but I dare say he was sidestepping reality when he went looking for a 8-12ft "Apemen" roaming around the world close to people, and no one EVER finds a body, collects DNA, or gets anything but blurry photos and short bad vids. Come on people wake-up already and go looking for things than might be out there (thylicine, sea creatures, animals in Asian forests, ect).
Its not so much that they avoid us, its that they wait until their is one or two hiking before they meet us, and it scares the piss out of most people so bad they just try to forget all about it. 7 foot 6, 4 feet wide at the shoulders and 27 inch biceps, that is frighting even with a flower in its hair.

I'm a sasquatch skeptic, but that does not mean that I'm opposed to cryptozoology. It just must be focused on science, objectivity, and evidence.
