I am also a catcher in middle school and I think that if you work hard enough and keep at it you are never too late to learn something new.

I love catching I am 13 and have caught full time being the only used catcher on my teams for 4 years but there is a price to pay I have dislocated my knee gotten tendinitis and you get hit with bats people and much more I have played at the age of 11 for the 18u team and at 13 the 16u as a fill in but take it easy if you catch

Not at all! I am 13 also and I just started last year, in my 6'th grade year. Now I'm a catcher, and I also hit cleanup. As long as you get the right training and are fit for it, because not all people can handle at-home collisions or can't throw hard. I had this girl on my time who could barely through to the pitcher.

Hi, I have been a catcher for 10 years. It helps blocking with your body. Make sure you can see where the ball is coming so you can shift. It always helps to have fast reflexes. Soon you will be automatic on where the ball is going. And make sure your shoulders are always facing the plate directly so you can easily turn and twist. Hope this helps to all catchers out there!
