XBOX 360 Laser head replacement

Replacing the laser head on my xbox 360
The drive used is a Hitachi 47DJ and the Laser head replacement is SF-HD63.

*NOTE* REMEMBER TO REMOVE THE SOLDER BALL IF THE LASER YOU'RE REPLACING IS BRAND NEW

Is there a difference between the different disc drives lasers?

I have a BenQ DVD Drive and I'm guessing the laser is damaged since it takes like 30 tries to get the disc to read. Besides that my Xbox 360 is fully functional. If they aren't different, could I get my HD DVD Player for 360, take its HD DVD DRIVE and insert it into my Xbox 360?

@BLACKaCH33Ze no you can't replace your BenQ with the HD DVD Drive...

You can replace your Benq with a (Xbox360) Samsung/Hitachi/LiteOn drive but you would have to flash it and spoof it so the xbox sees it as a Benq, otherwise it won't work.

the video is from a webcam and kind of crappy but you can see the antistatic solderball at 02:29 and I'm desoldering it at 02:42.

It's pretty obvious on the laserhead, if you can't find it it's probably already desoldered and you bought a used lens.

I replace both motors and the laser and my phillips drive still says open tray

@rvgpro I'm having the same exact problem but I put it together without removing the anti static ball which I will be doing later and trying again. That might be your problem if not please contact me if you get it working.

@backbreaker95 - What make of drive do you have and what replacement laser have you used. i.e taken the part from. make sure all ribbons are properly put into connectors.

i replaced it and all and the laser wont turn on ? the laser is black , not red , the light wont turn on , can you help me?

@NuJerzyDevil973 - Its the board on the drive that is flashed not the laser.
