A sad life but a glorious one. This was the first real documentary I heard about Kenneth and was hooked ever since. It's odd but he somehow sums up life with all its thwarted ambition, tragedy and also dark humour. Through all his moods though shines a great personality and a real character, totally English and a truly unique man.

i missed this first time around. no one can do these 'lives' like the south bank gang. this one was brilliant, a great insight into a very funny, but tragic man. thank you so much for this one

I wish someone would put up 'Comic Roots' where Kenneth took you round his old haunts in Marylebone. I haven't seen that since I was a kid. It was up here once but the cunts took it off!
