The surprise winners of 'Best in Theatre' and 'Best of Fringe' in The New Zealand Fringe Festival 2008 return to the festival this year with a brand new theatrical endeavour which revels in and reveals the shocking stuff of Edgar Allan Poe's life and works.

A Most Outrageous Humbug will be performed at the Waimapihi Reserve at the top of Holloway Rd in Aro Valley's heritage district. Redolent with atmosphere this beautiful setting provides the perfect backdrop to the macarbe twists and tragic turns in the life of literature's most mysterious moustachioed figure.

From his marriage at 26 to his 13 year old cousin, to his increasing enslavement to drugs and booze, Edgar Allan Poe's life is ripe with theatical possibilities, gleefully plucked by this enthusiastic young company to create A Most Outrageous Humbug.

A 'walking bus' will depart for the venue at 7:40pm from the corner of Holloway Rd and Aro St.
