Non ci si stanca mai di riascoltare questo pezzo la cui bellezza tocca le vette della storia musicale di tutti i tempi.

I have this piece in my Trombone Choir. Since its for strings theres tons of long notes that literally and metaphorically take my breath away. Absolutely amazing peace

As beautiful as this is, playing the harp part with an orchestra is a bitch.

Don't listen at this when you're sad. It makes you cry.

the night of 9/11, the San Francisco Symphony was playing Mahler's fifth.
It underscored the pain, tragedy and the collapse of the Twin Towers so perfectly that there was not a dry eye in the house.
I can't hear this today without thinking of the tragedy of 9/11.

@uuunderground Indeed Indeed Indeed!
This music does, indeed, personify the bliss and pain of being in love.

OH HEAVENS, this movement is always the highlight for me in this piece. MAHLER was a genius making these melodies, and harmonies. and i love that the 1st violins aren't always the ones that keeps the melody throughout the peice. lovely cello soli. beautiful viola entrances. just so BEAUTIFUL
