One of the prettier and readily accessable attractions in western montana, Wolf Creek Canyon features sheer cliffs, with beautiful rock walls in an assortment of pastel colors. Often times wildlife can be seen. It's particularly beautiful at sunset. It's basically on the way from Helena to Great Falls, or the reverse. (Not that any part of Montana wants for natural beauty.)

  • The wife and I are arriving at Great Falls at the end of July. We are staying near Wolf Creek. I have only been to the States, California 30 years ago. My wife has never been. If the views of the highway scenery are great whats the rest of the trip going to be like. Really looking forward to it now.

  • @mab1007 Depends on where you go, everywhere there is a kind of beautiful. July is probably a pretty good time of year. The road conditions can be uneven, sometimes good, sometimes terrible, but in the winter the driving can be harrowing. The main thing with montana is getting anywhere is going to take a long time. watch for deer, falling rocks, and the occasional careless driver, and have a good trip :) In Great Falls I can recommend Ford's Drivin for burgers, and The Commedor for mexican.

  • yeah, wolf creek canyon is amazing. the video doesn't even do it justice. if you see it at sunset it is spectacular.

  • Drove from Great Falls down I-15 through Montana, Idaho, Utah on my way to Vegas last March. That drive out of Great Falls is spectacular.

  • @Drifter1821 liberals love montana too.

  • If this canyon and the area around it were in another state, it would be a national park lol. In Montana, it's just another stretch of road. The entire state is beautiful, from east to west... a whole time zone wide. (And eastern MT is not flat... lots of rolling hills and jagged badlands and even a few small island ranges surrounded by plains. flat is North Dakota or Kansas or eastern Colorado). This canyon rocks. You're right, the colors don't pop like they do in person.

  • Wolf Creek Canyon is one of my favorite parts of Montana. I've been here for 23, that bein said I cant wait to leave lol

  • @Drifter1821 you'll love it there, best place in the United States of America right there, i wish i wasn't stuck in frickin south carolina right now

  • God damn, Montana is beautiful. I can't wait to move there. Plus, it is the best state when it comes to gun-rights. It also practices states rights. The perfect state for an outdoorsy, gun-loving guy like myself. Unfortunately, I live in the cold, dark, liberal, communist state called Connecticut. Montana will be my personal salvation.
