Me demonstrating and doing my best to explain a lick very much in the style of Sir Zachary Wylde (I want an accent over the "e" but don't know how to do that). Anyway, if you have any questions at all, ask me and I'll be sure to respond! Enjoy and be sure to comment!!!

  • Nice skills man!

What strings do you use on this video?

  • @mmx358 Hey dude, thanks for the compliment; it's greatly appreciated. I almost always use Ernie Ball Beefy slinkys, so I'm assuming that's what I was using here. I tried Dunlop Heavy Cores (12-54) as well, so it was either the Beefy slinkys or the Heavy Cores.

  • Yo! Sweet stuff man! Those harmonics you're getting on the low E (sounds about 3rd fret) Is your action higher than normal ? Just curious. Maybe it's the whole stop down. I just rewarded myself for finishing college with a custom black beauty and I can't seem to dependably be able to get it to scream like I can on some of my other axes.

  • @TheZHBolinger Thanks for the comment brother! As for the action, the action isn't too high on my LP, but it also isn't super low like on my Parker for instance. I can get the harmonics better on the LP for sure, having a bit of a higher action helps. Get it as high as you can without sacrificing playability. Other factors could be the EMGs, the amp settings, and the OD pedal I was using. All of that helps. Hope you enjoy the Black Beauty man! Rock on :D

  • hey dude you rock......tell me: how long did you practise this lick that u can play it so f****** quickly

  • @Meerwald12 Thanks for the compliment bro!! I had been playing for around 6 and a half years at this point I think; and I really started getting into that particular lick after playing for probably 4 years. So, I practiced it for about 2 years haha I didn't sit down every day and practice that lick or anything, but just playing everyday in that style helped. The part around 2:40 in the video came last because it was the hardest for me. Just play and practice every day and it'll come man!

  • @shredtilyurdead Thanks dude! I spend a lot of time dialing in my tone and it's good to know other people notice haha And for me, Gibson/Epi doesn't matter! i don't care what name is on the headstock if it plays/sounds good!!!

  • @chuckmehh

    Amazing tone you have man!

so Gibson/Epi doesnt really matter XD

Mega thanks for the ZW licks!

  • @shredtilyurdead Thanks man, I appreciate it! It's an Epiphone LP Standard with EMG 81/60, Planet Waves auto locking/auto trim tuners, GraphTech Tusq XL nut, and GraphTech ResoMax bridge/tailpiece. It eats Gibsons for lunch :D

  • Excellent ZW lesson !

    Is that a Gibson LP?
