In The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings you play the role of Geralt of Rivia, a witcher with his own background and character.

He is a witcher, a mutant, a professional monster slayer. People seek him for his skills, but he has to get out of their sight when no longer needed. His blades are his lifeline. It's therefore unsurprising that Geralt's ability to wield them is renowned, orand that very few are keen or even willing to risk their lives by engaging him in combat.

Still, the witcher prowess has not led to arrogance. Ultimately, he simply wants to survive while remaining true to his profession.

An exceptionally wonderful rendition of a Witcher short story. Absolutely brilliant!

The IP holds much promise, the games are quickly developing into one of the best RPG series and the developers have shown over the years that they truly care about pleasing their audience; gamers. Not only that but they're also incredibly talented making quite possibly THE best current engine for RPGs.

It's companies like these that remind me why I love video games so damn much!

Actually Gerald is a human. If you read the book or watch the series, he never went through the full mutation, he is not a witcher and still have the super human abilities. He is first and last of his kind. He just don't know it because of the amnesia in The Witcher game.
