  • @MasterAdam100. I don't have it wrong. Hersheys is paying them what the students agreed to and they even signed contracts. They shouldn't have agreed to work in the first place. Hersheys isn't breaking any laws so there is no criminal action. We all have deductions taken out of checks. Maybe Hersheys should make them find & pay for their own housing and then see how well they have it!

As for being better, anyone that works harder than they do without complaining it would make them better!

  • @stupidcantbefixed It doesn't matter if they aren't American. They are people and that's all that matters. We aren't better then them.

  • @stupidcantbefixed You've got it all wrong. Hershey is exploiting these people for cheap labor and hardly paying them anything while expecting the students to pay for everything. It's criminal and you may be satisfied with people getting screwed but the majority of us hard working people work too damn hard to get paid so little. You have to fight for your rights, not just sit back and be told what to do and shut up.

  • All you hard working Americans that don't want lazy students coming over here and screwing things up ...go out and buy some Hershey's Products. Put more REAL AMERICANS back to work and rid this country of the laziness that we see here. I'd love to see these pricks working as longshoremen back in the 60's. They wouldn't last a day.

  • @grrlinduluth - The point is these kids were lied to about the prospect and opportunity that this "internship" held for them. The other problem is that minimum wage is a joke if you look at inflation rates. America is falling apart at the seems because of greed for the almighty dollar. When CEO's clear $200 Mil and they fire 5,0000 employees to make it look like they are posting a profit something is wrong. No corporations have any loyalty to America anymore. This is the start of the end of USA.

  • simple solution-maybe its time for mandatory job year level pay no matter what your degree is-its called you start off at minumun wage and climb up the ladder that is the american way-not expect to make millions packing 50 cent candy bars just because the big wig does-the big question is these jobs paid less the last decade why are you waiting until now to join the its the end of the world protest idiot team?

  • 8.45 an hour when cany bars are 50 cents and products run like 3 bucks a bag,6 pak-what the fck do expect to be paid as a STUDENT or starter out job-you people complaining are the reason these companies are going to foreign cheap labor-get off your wannabe famous like the sixties protest kick when crap hits the fan well see how many are really on your lazy complaining side-most rooms for rent anywhere are a little voer hundred dollars they expect free rent too...

  • @AshburnStadium - Correction. I wasn't aware that some members of Local 464 were involved in solidarity, and typed too soon. I hope that under today's pro-business climate in Pennsylvania (our governor is called "Tom Corporate") that they don't suffer any repercussions from this move, which was once protected by law.

  • Also, if the foreign workers are striking the plant, you know it's time for the Chocolate Workers' Union, Local 464, to grow a pair and join in with them. Too much has happened in Hershey these days that have endangered American jobs, starting with "Hershey is...that great Mexican...great Mexican chocolate bar!"

  • Milton S. Hershey must be spinning in his grave. He took great pride in taking care of his employees, which the Hershey Trust cannot be trusted to do these days.
