  • @TheFaithfulApologist now you have committed a fallacy of misrepresenting what I said.

I didn't say scientist is smarter than you and hence I take his word.

I said that it is his area of expertise..and hence is a legitimate authority.

    Don't be dishonest man...come on

  • @batshitcrazy007 Im not talking about the legitimacy of the bureau im stating that you cannot appeal to an authority higher than the opponent to prove a point. "Scientist are smarter and they are never wrong therefor you are wrong." Estimation made by scientist in the pass have been wrong before. I've even stated one.

  • @TheFaithfulApologist But the cesus bureau is a legitimate authority in predicting population. Therefore your fallacy doesn't apply here

  • @GenericFurfag Yeah I guess, Ive been listening to some Daniel Denett and William Lane Craig. So im alright. Thanks for your concern. =)

  • @batshitcrazy007 Your still using argument from authority. Fallacies aren't good for arguments.

  • @batshitcrazy007 Argument from authority - This fallacy is committed when the person in question is not a legitimate authority on the subject. More formally, if person A is not qualified to make reliable claims in subject S, then the argument will be fallacious.

  • @TheFaithfulApologist Damn dude, you've been going at it for hours. That's one way of passing time I suppose.

  • @TheFaithfulApologist Nope it's not. because it's his area of expertise. If it was something unrelated to both of you...then may be it's a fallacy

  • @TheFaithfulApologist I am not aware of this particular instance you are talking about. But as the science is improving so are the estimates. But the important point is a scientist has more credibility than you. Get it?

  • @TheFaithfulApologist Yes, I'm sure in reality he sees this logic of the arguments used against him, but won't ever admit it because of his vested interest in reaching a particular conclusion. He will maintain that conclusion no matter what logical absurdities he has to pretend to believe to justify it. Odd.
