@PigsCanFly99 Hey dumbass
Read rule 14 L
(l) ___ ___ o ___ (i) At every whistle post. (ii) At least one-quarter of a mile from every public crossing at
grade, (except within limits as may be prescribed in special
instructions) to be prolonged or repeated according to the speed of the
movement until the crossing is fully occupied by the engine or cars.
(iii) At frequent intervals when view is restricted by weather,

@enr3870 it should also be federally-mandated that all train operators (I reserve the term Engineer for professionally accredited members of the PEO) that all train operators pass a horn-blowers exam that contains a technical AND a psychological component. To ensure they have the psychological where-with-all to curb their horn fetish and fixations. You suffer from low-brow Neandrethal lay-on-the-horn fixation - it's a penis thing. The train is an extension of your penis - in your tiny mind.

@PigsCanFly99 We are required by federal law to sound 2 long 1 short and 1 long whistle signal at every crossing. If I sound one toot and hit someone I can be criminally charged for negligence and sued by the person, if they survive or the family of said person if they don`t. So fuck you, I will still lay on the horn.

For the rest of you who legitimately want to know, the "bell" is actually an electronic warning device they are required to operate in a station area.

I was just about to glorify the first part of your question with a response, then saw the irrationality of the second part of your post and therefore decline.

Conductor has a bell-ringing fetish. What is it with these train-guys anyhow? Like a single shot on the horn is far and sufficient for ALL intents and purposes. Any 'leaning' on the horn constitutes disturbing the peace and the should be charged accordingly. An unfortunate tradition - this leaning on the horn business - I'm confident it has NEVER made any difference (that a single toot wouldn't have accomplished). Rail guys just trying to show us their nuts. Get lost I say!
