The city and palace of Korsabad in modern northern Iraq was built for the Assyrian king Sargon II (721-705 BCE). The palace entrance was dominated by human-headed winged bulls that served as guardians accompanied by protective spirits with magical powers. Video taken on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, with an iPhone4.
