Heard this as a little girl, about five or six years old. Never forgot it, even to this day. Was at a relative's house when I first heard it, either on a record or on a (transistor or stereo) radio at the time.

Juliaflo: i've got mel torme's version on 45.found it in 2005,and pretty good vocal version too.

@wfarrar69 I heard a recording with Mel Torme singing the lyrics even before I heard Mr. Guaraldi's version.

My fav. version - I still have the 45rpm. Funny how this hit us at such a young age .We were usually listening to the Beatles etc but I fell in love with this 1st time I heard it - took my allowance and headed for the record store. Before Dennis used it for his show IIRC, 77 AM/WABC (NYC) had it in their rotation/play list - '64 or '65. (when I 1st heard it).Great arrangement & the sound engineer did an excellent job with the excellent drummer too. Loved drums ( and cymbals) ever since.

Beautiful tune! This always reminds Me of the rumour that when the late Alan Freeman was doing the chart rundown,He mistakenly announced it as Cast Your Wind toThe Fate.

I love you more than words can say, lifesaver.

i've heard three versions of this song.this was the first version.the other two were done by vince guaraldi and a vocal version by mel torme. great lp too.this tune's a classic and should not be forgotten.thanks.
This used to be the Theme Song of the Dennis Elsas Radio Show on WNEW FM 102.7 MHz in New York City in the early 1970's. I once called Him up on the Telephone (when You used to be able to do that) to ask Him what was the name of this Song and who performed it and He told Me that it was an Out Of Print Song called, "Cast Your Fate To The Wind" by Sounds Orchestral. Thanks for posting this on YouTube.Com for everyone else to enjoy.
