Random Randal: Made in Kerala is an installation by New York artist Noah Fischer in collaboration with Elisa Soliven, Anil Dayanand , and the Students of RLV College in Tripunithura, India. In Malayalam "Randal" means lantern and ten large lanterns constructed from bamboo, fabric, and coconut leaves constitute the main visual effect. For an intensive week-long workshop, students at the RLV College created an experimental space of language confusion, weaving natural materials, and ritual dancing, which culminated in a text stamping performance, and an amusement-part-like final installation. Random Randal marks the first time that Carnatic music/dance students have collaborated with visual art students at RLV college
