Brian Haw began a protest against the sanctions on Iraq in Parliament Square, London on June 2nd, 2001.

8 years later, he is still there.

Although there are many laws that cover violent protests, there was no way for the Government to stop this peaceful protest.

The Serious Organised Crime and Police Act was passed in April, 2005, in an effort to stop Brian, but his protest started before this law - so he is exempt.

In fact, everyone is.

The European Convention on Human Rights states:

Article 10 - Everyone has the right to freedom of expression.

Article 11 - Everyone has the right to freedom of peaceful assembly.

Article 17 - No Government can interfere with these Rights.

I THINK THIS HAS MORE TO SAY ABOUT THE LACK OF CONVICTION IN OUR SOCIETY THAT OUT OF 53 MILLION PEOPLE JUST ONE MAN CAMPED OUTSIDE THE CORRUPT CABAL AKA HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT AND STOOD UP AGAINST THE SYSTEM FOR MORE THAN 7 YEARS, NOW IF THAT IS NOT A HEROIC ACT I DONT KNOW WHAT IS. yes its true our government has done some fuked up shit but however there are terrorists in afghanistan and if you deny that you are a fool. i agree with him protesting but not displaying offensive images in public of injured babies. using such images to justify youre own protest in itself is pretty sick. also it is very difficult to know where those photos came from and tracing their source is difficult. i suggest you take them down and show respect for the babie on that photo

has sadly passed away in hospital in Germany after a long battle with lung cancer.
