This video will guide you through manually encrypting your hard drive using PGP Desktop.

This same process can be used to encrypt a USB drive.

  • question when i come to the encryption window (with the following options 1. recipient keys 2. passphase 3. PGP self decryption archieve etc.) i am hit with a warning message - PGP could not find one or more of your master keys. Please go to the masters key panel of the PGP options?? i cannot find the masters key panel anyway.. can you help thanks.

  • @esludds The master key list is found in PGP Desktop in this location: Tools > Options (CTRL +T) > Master Keys tab

The error indicates that there is a key listed in the master keys list that is not on your keyring. If you have deleted the key from your keyring you can remove it from the master key list and it should resolve the error. If that is not the case, you can click "Add" and add in a new key from your keyring, which should also resolve the problem.
