If Panic had a more interesting drummer I would probably love them. There's a difference between keeping it simple, and just being boring. Michael Travis of String Cheese and Jon Fishman are a testament to this for jam bands. They dont play out but don't sound like a drum machine either. They play a variety of grooves and play fills that are tasty. But don't even get my started on Kris Myers :)
there's my two cents

@TheFootegirl73 ...agreed, they've done a lot better job of carrying the torch than Phish has !

@yeshua2come I know this might tick a few dead heads off and I assure you I mean no disrespect to the Dead, but I truly consider Widespread Panic the Grateful Dead of the twenty first century. They just keep getting better and still MSM ignores them.... imagine that mainstream pop culture ignoring great musicians for crappy sexy sluts. SMH! But hey, maybe that is a good thing; POP culture seems to ruin all the great bands they put on top. IE Metallica, Nirvana, Suicidal Tendencies, etc....

I remember when growing up in the south, I saw many bands, some of them regularly, many I got tired ofeven before they got big like Hootie, but some only got better like Panic.
Panic is only getting better.
